The Secret To Controlling Splurges September 18, 2007 |
| G'morning,
Did you know that you've been conditioned since childhood to NEED to eat junk food? Think about it. We've all been told "you only live once, so do it right", "food is meant to be enjoyed", and other brainwashing quotes that make us fatter than we should be. Well I agree, food is meant to be enjoyed. However, it's not meant to be enjoyed like most people in the world are enjoying it. Pints of ice cream in one sitting. Throwing down a full bag of chips in a few days (or less). Drinking soda like they're life depended on it. If you're one of these people, it's ok. People can always change, and it's NEVER too late to start controlling splurges and eating healthier. I used to be like that too, actually. I'd sit up late at night, eating huge bowls of ice cream, popcorn and peanuts mixed in a bowl, bags of chips, etc. But after awhile, I learned how to control my splurges. This is a technique I use now and I'm asking you to try it out as well. Instead of eating a bowl of ice cream, just take 1 scoop and place it in the smallest piece cup or bowl you have. Instead of eating chips from the bag, simply take the bag, grab a handful, and walk away. Then get yourself busy doing something so you don't get another craving. If you're going to drink soda or some other sugary, fattening drink, put it in the smallest glass you have. I think you get the idea. Controlling splurges isn't hard, it just takes dedication. It's not realistic to eat 100% healthy, every single day - unless you're preparing for a fitness competition. You're human. It's ok to make mistakes once in awhile and eat junk food :) The next time you want junk food, don't feel guilty about eating it. Instead, be proud of yourself that you had the discipline to eat just a little bit instead of huge amounts. Have a great day! Jeremy PS - Over the next few days (not sure when, I'm extremely busy this week) I'm going to be adding something to the website that will allow you to make comments/suggestions/ideas on the posts I write. Please participate and add some of your ideas to my posts.
PPS - I added a new section to the website called "Product Reviews" You can find it on the sidebar. I also reviewed a product called "The Bean". |
