Do You Know Why Cinnamon Is A New Superfood?
October 17, 2007
Great news for those who love cinnamon!

Cinnamon is one spice that I never pictured to be full of amazing health benefits. I only found out that the health benefits of cinnamon were incredible about 10 months ago.

Before then, I honestly never even thought about it.

Anyway, back to the point.

New research presented in San Francisco has proven that cinnamon and cloves have the ability - due to the power polyphenols it contains (also found in green tea)- to boost insulin as well as lower cholesterol.

In fact, you can lower your triglyceride, cholesterol, and glucose levels in your body by 10-30% with as little as 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon twice a day!

So how can you add in 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon into your diet twice a day?

It's easy.

In the morning, sprinkle some on your coffee or tea. At night or during the afternoon, you can sprinkle some on a sweet potato. My favorite is baked sweet potato fries with cinnamon.

Just slice them thin like fries and bake them at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes or until soft - yum!

Doing this will delight your taste buds and help regulate your blood sugar. What happens when your blood sugar is stabilized?

Increased metabolism!

Now I'm getting a huge craving for some cinnamon so I think I'll go sprinkle some over my special "relaxation" tea that I like to drink before bed.

PS - I got another fitness ball today that I'm using as my computer chair. I love it! I estimate that I'll burn an extra 200-300 calories (due to the excess bouncing around on it) and increase my core strength big time! Pick one up from Amazon by going here - Fitness Ball
