Why Sometimes You Should Just Let Go
December 30, 2007
If you haven't noticed already, I'm quite the unorthodox person. I live my life trying to be the opposite of the "average" person because the average person is fat, lazy, poor, and unhappy.

I bring that same attitude when it comes to working out.

Most "experts" will tell you that you HAVE to keep track of every single workout you do or it's a wasted workout.

While I wholeheartedly believe in keeping track of your progress, I also think that sometimes you should just "do whatever" and make it a fun workout.

This is especially important for those times when you just don't feel like working out.

I did one of these workouts yesterday, and man oh man am I sore today.

My workout consisted of some weighted 1 legged squats, handstand pushups, weighted ab rollouts, weighted rope climbing, and other things.

At one point I put a 90 pound sandbag on my shoulder and walked from my basement, did lunges up the steps, around my entire downstairs, up the steps, and then walked back down the steps on my heels and around my downstairs one more time (to strengthen the "tibia" which supports the front of your knee)

My family thought I was a little nuts, but it was a great exercise.

My point is this: sometimes you need to just do "whatever" in order to keep yourself interested in working out. This is one of my chapters in my upcoming book and it's a very important principle.

If you aren't keeping track already it's not the same because you're used to it, although I'd guess you do the same workout over and over.

If you do, mix it up a little.

You'll love the results.
