With The Snow Comes Some Great Exercising Opportunities December 02, 2007 |
| I'm not sure if anybody else is getting or already had some snow, but here in Northeast PA we're getting a few inches today and some freezing rain.
While most people will probably pull out their automatic snowblowers and mindlessly plod along for 10 minutes through the snow, I take a different approach. I came up with this approach last year when I realized that I could have fun shoveling snow and get a great workout at the same time. And it's simple really - all you do is simply shovel as fast as you can until you get out of breath. Catch your breath, and do it again! It makes shoveling snow much more fun and gives you a great interval workout at the same time. If you have some snow right now, be sure to put away the automatic snow blower and do it by hand like a real fitness enthusiast should. Just make sure you keep your back straight and tight, and switch up sides so you work your back muscles evenly.
