A Few Quick Thanksgiving Tips To Think About November 22, 2007 |
| Well tomorrow is already Turkey Day - I can't believe it!
Before I say anything, I just want to say that one of the things I'm thankful for is this website, you, and the fact that I'm able to help others out in their quest for better fitness. So thanks for being a part of my website! Anyway, this year is flying by, but I guess they all do right? You're most likely going to be eating a bunch of food tomorrow. Most of it won't be good for you, and if you're not careful you might put on a few pounds in the next week. So here are a few quick very quick tips to keep the weight off: 1) Do some high intensity interval training. I know it'll be busy tomorrow, so just throw in a nice quick 10 minute, very fast and intense exercise. You'll be burning more fat the rest of the day. I'm playing 2.5 hours of football in the morning, so I'll have tons of sprints under my belt :) 2) Load your plate with meat and veggies FIRST, then follow with the carbs. Also, take an extra serving of the meat and veggies so it fills up more of your plate. 3) When eating dessert (yes, you're allowed to cheat - I know I do) slice a regular piece, then slice it in half again. You'll be able to enjoy the dessert but with only half the calories. If you aren't willing to do this, at least make the attempt of cutting off the crust. If you haven't checked it out yet, go to http://fitness-made-fun.com/support-files/how-to-stay-fit-throughout-the-holidays-and-still-eat-the-food-you-love.pdf and quickly skim through the book for more ideas. At least take a look at the chapter titles - that might make it even easier for you. Have an incredible Thanksgiving everyone! Jeremy |
