As an avid Apple customer, I may be a bit biased, but to be quite honest I could never have imagined just how happy I would be with the Nike+ product.
It is so easy to use, there's nothing to install or mess around with. The only thing you need to do is calibrate the sensor to recognize your walk and run strides, and you're set.
You can select different workouts to try (basic, time, distance, calorie, etc.), based on whether you want to just set it and run for as long as you can or if you want to work toward a goal of running 5 miles in your workout.
A free account with Nikeplus.com allows you to upload and save all your workouts, set goals, join challenges with people across the country, and view your progress.
I've gone from running a mile tops to running 5 miles! It's incredibly motivating and I can't think of anything that would make this system better.
For $30, I can't think of anything better.
I know it doesn't come with the shoes or the iPod, but here's some tips: 1) Apple sells discontinued and refurbished iPods for a little less than retail, check their website to get a deal, 2) If you don't like Nike shoes or don't need new ones, a quick search of Amazon.com will bring up a pouch that attaches to your shoelaces for about $4!
Happy running!
Jeremy's Comments - Beth, that sounds incredible. I don't have one myself because I hardly ever jog, but for a person who does that seems like an incredible deal!
