Theraband exercises

Using one of those large rubber bands called "Therabands" among other brands you can do several different types of exercises that are fun and interesting.

Using the band tie a loop to put your leg through and tie the other end to the base of another workout machine or even a small tree. Next do the following three exercises doing 3 sets of 15.

-Put the loop across the arch of your foot closest to the tree, standing sideways pull toward your body and slowly allow it to go back to starting position, repeat 15 times and go to next exercise

-Put the loop across the arch of your foot farthest away from the tree, standing sideways push your foot away from your body allowing it to cross your midline slightly slowly going back to starting position, repeat 15 times and go to next exercise.

-Put the loop around your Achilles and turn to face the tree, standing as straight as possible push your foot backwards away from you slowly allowing it to go back to the starting position, repeat 15 times then start all over again going through the circuit at least three times.

This exercise not only helps your legs and gluts but it also incorporates your core forcing you to maintain your balance throughout the entire exercise. You will look hilarious the first time you try, you may need an object to help you steady yourself.
